Product Development Coordinator

Sprout is an innovative food initiative that seeks to bring accessible healthy food options and healthy food education to food desserts across Ottawa. Through selling produce in corner stores already in place in communities and using the space to provide the food within walking distance of residents' homes. We work closely with Ottawa Public Health and working towards a more equitable world in terms of Canada's food security right here at home. 

The Sprout team's goals this year include:

1. Continuing to develop recipes that can be conveniently and affordably prepared using foods stocked in our participating convenience stores

2. Building more partnerships with local farmers and farmers' cooperatives, public health authorities, and nonprofit partners that work with our target clientele (i.e. the Food Bank, food pantries and soup kitchens)

3. Launching the program in more convenience stores, potentially identifying a franchise chain that would be interested in the project


YOU’LL NEED TO:

  • Have strong time management skills

  • Be optimistic and thrive in team settings

YOU’LL BE WORKING ON THINGS LIKE:

  • Packaging Sprout meal kits

  • Developing new Sprout products and recipes

  • Finding new and innovative ways to advertise Sprout products with the marketing team

  • Collaborating with the Community Relations officer to sell and sample meal kits and coordinate community events across campus and the city

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD:

  • Previous experience with product development

Head of Marketing

YOU’LL NEED TO:

  • Be able to implement strong marketing strategies, including promotional campaigns on social media platforms

  • Have excellent written communication skills

  • Have experience with various digital marketing platforms

YOU’LL BE WORKING ON THINGS LIKE:

  • Overseeing the development of the Sprout brand with the Enactus uOttawa Marketing team

  • Promoting community events and Sprout launches in new stores

  • Coordinating frequent meetings with the Sprout marketing team to develop online and offline promotional strategies

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD:

  • Previous experience developing and implementing marketing strategies

Store Success Coordinator

YOU’LL NEED TO

  • Have great team working abilities

  • Have efficient time management skills

  • Have excellent oral communication skills

  • Be optimistic and represent Sprout values

YOU WILL BE WORKING ON THINGS LIKE:

  • Maintaining an excellent relationship between Sprout and current store partners

  • Visiting stores at least once a week to track and record inventory

  • Communicating with the rest of the team sales levels

  • Tracking and inputting the inventory levels into an Excel spreadsheet

  • Communicating with the rest of the team when new inventory needs to be produced

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Interest in nutrition

  • A vehicle during weekdays

  • Experience in tracking inventory

  • Experience in working on Excel spreadsheets
