Research & Development Coordinator

Number of Positions: Variable

The Research & Development team is responsible for creating new projects and expanding our current projects through investigating needs in the community, validating new ideas, and generating sustainable solutions.

YOU’LL NEED TO:

·       Be creative, open-minded, and resourceful

·       Be able to take the initiative and lead the execution of new ideas

·       Work well with others

·       Have excellent written and oral communication skills

IT’D BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

·       Experience working with needs groups

·       Experience conducting research

·       Experience with community outreach

YOU’LL BE WORKING ON THINGS LIKE:

·       Researching pressing issues in the community and developing creative ways to address these issues through new projects or project initiatives

·       Working with Project Managers to troubleshoot current issues and host think tanks to grow existing projects

·       Developing an infrastructure and clear process for new Enactus project creation

 

Technical Officer

The Research & Development team is responsible for creating new projects and expanding our current projects through investigating needs in the community, validating new ideas, and generating sustainable solutions.

Goals of the Research and Development team include:

  1. Launching at least one new project
  2. Launching at least two new initiatives within existing projects
  3. Developing an infrastructure and clear process for new Enactus project creation

Technical officers will be working on hands-on technical aspects of the research and development process, validating the technical aspects of the business models proposed by the research and development coordinators.

YOU’LL NEED: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detailed and organized
  • Have an understanding of design/fabrication methods
  • Willing to invest a minimum 5 hour commitment per week, in addition to weekly team meetings, and monthly General Meetings

IT’D BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE: 

  • Experience or a background from a scientific field
  • Passion in technology and innovations
  • have "hands-on" experience (i.e. personal projects, class assignments, etc.)
  • experience with softwares such as CAD

YOU’LL BE WORKING ON THINGS LIKE:

  • Researching new technological developments
  • Constructing prototypes using power tools
  • Testing design results
  • Optimizing designs
  • Bridging ideas into functional solutions
