Legacy Hacks is the Legacy Conference’s first MLH-backed Hackathon taking place this coming Spring. It will be a gathering of intellect, creativity and innovation where Computer Science students from all over Ontario come together to solve company sponsored challenges, develop solutions to everyday problems and meet like-minded individuals.
You’re going to be on the founding team of Legacy Hacks, so there’s going to be a ton of cool things to work on - plus you’re going to be working alongside some of uOttawa’s finest to make it happen.
Interested in joining the team working to make this happen?
You'll have to:
- Be in 2nd/3rd year
Have participated in one or more Hackathon(s)
Possess strong leadership skills
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Be a social butterfly
Understand the importance of accuracy and precision
Be able to tackle awkward situations with a positive attitude (there’s going to be a lot of them)
Ability to work with anyone
Excellent problem-solving skills
It'd be great if you have:
Experience organizing an event or leading a team
Experience working in tech
Software Development experience
You’ll be working on things like:
Organizing weekly meetings and gathering updates from team members to move project along
Developing new strategies to grow our total impressions and participation numbers
Reaching out to sponsors to get involved in the event through emails, calls and networking events
Collaborating with the deCODE Hackathon’s PM to gain insight and grow into the position
Bringing the team together to collectively create an atmosphere to be as welcoming as possible to attendees and potential sponsors
