Head of Business Development

Project FLY (Future Leaders in Youth), is a development workshop-based program that aims to empower at-risk youth to take advantage of opportunities in post-secondary education, employment, and entrepreneurship. Through interactive workshop, Project FLY educates youth on core topics which include the importance of post-secondary education, employment skills, environmental sustainability, leadership, financial literacy, professional soft skills, nutrition, and entrepreneurship. 

This year, Project FLY’s objectives include;

  1. Strengthening the current academic content for the Business & Nutrition workshops
  2. Expand our content by looking for opportunities to transition into mental health workshops
  3. Continuing to build on our relationships with current community partners (YMCA, JA, CLK Youth)
  4. Looking for new opportunities within the community to provide our workshops 

YOU’LL NEED TO:

•    Be very organized and detail-oriented

•    Have excellent written and oral communication skills

•    Be open minded and resourceful

 

IT’D BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

•    Experience working with youth/students

•    Experience in writing grant applications and fundraising

•    An interest in the youth development

 

TASKS YOU WOULD DO:

•    Research grant opportunities that are applicable to all aspects of Project FLY (Nutrition Education, Business Workshops, Perfect Pitch)

•    Create application templates/answers to general questions to ease future application process 

•    Create and plan fundraising opportunities for the upcoming year

•    Financing and sponsorship activities for the project, including leading the creation of a social enterprise that the youth could work on as an experiential learning project

•    Aiding in setting long-term goals and objectives
