Head of Business Development

Sanajiit is a social enterprise that sells affordable and repurposed furniture in Iqaluit, while simultaneously acting as a recycling program for the city. It also acts as a mentorship program for Northern youth to gain valuable soft skills such as leadership and communication, and encourages them to pursue education and careers in technology and trades.

This year, the Sanajiit team's objectives include:

  • Making the business sustainable, allowing it to reach $5,000 in revenues
  • Further developing the workshop curriculum to include mental health and workplace health and safety topics
  • Making the program available to at-risk youth who are not currently in the school system
  • Expanding the program to other Northern communities

YOU'LL NEED TO:

  • Be very organized and detail-oriented
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Be open-minded and resourceful

IT’D BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience with working in Northern communities
  • Experience with community outreach
  • An interest in working with high school students and non-profit organizations

YOU'LL BE WORKING ON THINGS LIKE:

  • Financing and sponsorship activities for the project
  • Communicating and updating our community partners regularly
  • Working with the Marketing and Creative Director to expand the program to other needs groups and Northern communities, which includes identifying and reaching out to potential community partners
  • Aiding in setting long-term goals and objectives
